The card does not work with or replace insurance, but it will help Co-op members who are:

This plan is a pharmacy discount offer, and it not insurance. The card provides immediate discounts at the pharmacy. Upon presenting your card to the pharmacist, you will pay the lower of a discounted price or the pharmacy’s regular retail price. There are no forms to fill out and no limit to the number of times you can use the card.

On average, EMEC members using the discount have saved almost 28% on their prescriptions. Simply present your discount card at any local pharmacy and most national pharmacies. All known Maine pharmacies take the card; members who encounter a pharmacy that does not yet take the card are asked to contact EMEC so that the pharmacy can be added to the program.
