Eastern Maine Electric New Bill Design

New Bill Layout 2024


Eastern Maine Electric is rolling out a new layout for its bills. All of the information is still there, but the page is now tidier and simpler. The Co-op hopes members will be able to find what they are looking for faster. 

The front of the bill is now arranged in three sections: 
A summary section, for a quick look at the basics
A detail section, that breaks down the bill and compares this month with previous months.
The bill stub, for returning with mailed-in payments

Summary Section:
Your Bill at a Glance
Most of the time, people just want to know the bill total and when it is due. The summary section gives them what they need.
With a quick glance at the upper right corner of the new bill, members can see their account number, the amount due, the due date, and the account transactions since the previous bill. 

Detail Section:
Located in the middle third of the page, this section gives members the current month’s billing details, as well as a comparison with previous bills. That includes: 
Meter number 
Meter readings
Billing period
Rate class
Line item charges
Billing notes on fees and other issues that may impact the bill
The new bill layout contains all the information of the old layout, and more. Co-op members can also find a wealth of information about past bills, usage, and payments through the member payments  portal, SmartHub, at www.emec.com.
As always, members can phone the Co-op from 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. on weekdays at (800) 696-7444. This is also the only method for making payment arrangements on past due bills.
