Thurs 1/29/26 Emergency Planned Outage

The Co-op will conduct an emergency planned outage on Thursday, January 29th, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., affecting portions of northern Washington and Penobscot Counties and southern Aroostook County.

A recent routine inspection identified damage to a structure on the transmission line serving the Topsfield substation. The outage will allow linemen and contractors to complete necessary repairs now, helping to prevent a much longer, unplanned outage in the future. If weather conditions prevent work on Thursday, the outage will be rescheduled for Friday, January 30th.

The outage area includes towns and roadways along the Route 1 and Route 6 corridors. Along Route 1, affected areas include Route 1 and side roads from Waite north through Danforth to Boundary Road in Orient. Along Route 6, impacts extend from Lee west to Vanceboro, including Routes 169, 170, and Route 2, and their associated side roads.

We understand that an outage during winter is especially difficult, and we would not schedule one unless it was absolutely necessary. Although outages are typically scheduled overnight, this work must be completed during daylight hours for safety reasons. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
