EARLY-MORNING POWER OUTAGE PLANNED FOR CALAIS AREA
THURSDAY, SEPT 25TH, 12:01 AM – 5 AM
Eastern Maine Electric has planned an early-morning power outage affecting the Calais area on Thursday, September 25, 2025. The outage is scheduled for roughly 12:01 a.m. to 5:00 am, affecting the following towns and neighborhoods:
- All of Calais and Robbinston;
- In Perry, Route 1 and side roads;
- In Baring, Route 1 and side roads, as well as Route 191;
- In Baileyville, Route 1 from Baring to Woodland Hill, including the Big Stop.
The outage will allow EMEC linemen to conduct substation maintenance and improvements that should help avoid some unplanned outages in the months ahead.
EMEC members may want to take appropriate precautions Wednesday evening, including:
- Charging necessary devices in advance
- Planning for any medical or safety needs that require electricity
- Turn off computers, devices, and other sensitive equipment until after power is restored
